Times were rough as I recall. Used to be hard work got a body somewhere or something even if it was just personal gratification. Now days aint a single body have personal space in the loneliest of uncharted territories, there’s always a computer present spouting off on some theorem or destination coordinates. As for personality itself, damned if you could swing tghysryl without bashing a clone across the mainframe. Somewhere down the timeline humans became the lowly life form, the inferior particle amongst the vast shore of thoughtful entities. Space became an extension of what city life was. Follow the Neon Crest and before you know it the slums, with their down and outers, will be upon you hawking candy colored computer chips and grey vials to warp blood and get temporarily rewired: Getting Chalked some call it. Nothing is organic unless you got the funds. Politicians are still around and they grow the trees and other plants. Amongst the slugs and alphapods and everyone else there were still a few good ol’ boys. The music helped string us along in our out of date craft running on two DS4G thrusters; wouldn’t want to be seen around the Red Giant with those relics, the worms would take us for fools. The Industry has changed as there is no industry. One can’t make recordings without high profile clearance and receiving that is out of the question for warm bloods like us. We still have substandard documentation technology and anytime we get a chance we scribe to tape our thoughts and sonic observations. Time is limited though as the Scanners are constantly trolling. Anyone or anything caught pirating gets banished to sector 7BFsubsect9Z, I have never met anyone who has been there and I sure as pluto don’t want to see if it exists or not.
Our home is a club. Goes by the name Leather Jackets Only. It’s a hole in a rock but the company is good and we get some scratch from time to time. The worms have been taking a lot of the gigs in our sector but we’ve still managed to maintain some ins. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again shit is rough, but that’s life in space.
